While this is a simple answer, the truth isn’t that elementary. The process of creating our feature movie projects with those outstanding, charming souls is both a entertainment and curse, as there are so many conflicting emotions, needs, hopes, wants and expectations banded jointly to the process.
Also, my process—while creative—is chaotic at finest. Beyond the shadow of a doubt, my team is often amazed to watch the final result, even after experiencing the battle it’s taken to accept there. Notwithstanding, no 1 is more astonished that myself, since I am often overcome with fear, upset and self-doubt. I find that, more and more, it’s this fear and doubt that creates the chaos this often rules our life’s work, love, and being.
Oddly—or maybe it’s the universe’s idea of a evil joke—from this chaos, perfect things can happen. From breakdowns come breakthroughs. And to that degree that is a necessary ultimate in my creative process, the theme of Answered Prayers and the inspiration for The Lamb.
That said, there has been no better pleasure and blessing than having the ability to work with a company of worthy performers who admit me the fortune to both understand and know them in an effort to create their actions. They give me the gift of trust, and it is this trust I am so honestly grateful for, because without them, how I work would not be possible. Please shower em with praise, because for many performers, positive energy and authentic praise is worth greater amount than a bit of silver (And don’t we all feel a bit greater when saying a kind word rather than a jab).
